The Gendler Grapevine Project
In honor of the Shmita year, and as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, the Shir Tikvah Climate Minyan has applied for and received a $10,000 Gendler Grapevine Grant to transform our grounds into a model of sustainable land use. Projects will include; replacing lawn with pollinator friendly native plantings, expanding our vegetable garden, planting fruit trees, hosting bee hives, and putting in rain gardens.
Help us create our Gan Tikvah-Garden of Hope. We invite members to participate in the mitzvah of transforming our grounds! Sign up for 1 or more two-hour shifts over the summer. This is a perfect family activity for parents and children, ages 12 and up. No prior experience required, just a willingness to sweat and get a bit dirty.
Can't work in the garden? Donate to the Tikkun Olam Working Group Fund (Social Justice) in support of the project - $10,000 more is needed to complete the plan.
