Rabbi Michael Adam Latz
Senior Rabbi
Rabbi Latz has been Shir Tikvah's Senior Rabbi since July 2009. He brings to the congregation boundless energy, heartfelt compassion, and commitment to fostering an authentic and engaging Jewish experience. Previously, he
 was the founding rabbi of Kol HaNeshamah in West Seattle. A Wexner Fellow during rabbinical school, Rabbi Latz was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2000. He has written for socialaction.com and his sermon, "The Unbinding of Isaac," was selected by Sh'ma magazine as one of the 18 best sermons of 1999.

John Humleker
Executive Director
John brings a depth of administrative know-how that benefits all of us. John provides staff support to many areas of our operations including finance, administration, committee and congregant relations. He is a member of the National Association of Temple Administrators, which is affiliated with the Reform movement.

Rabbi Melissa Simon
Director of Lifelong Learning

Rabbi Melissa Simon joined Shir Tikvah in July 2010. Rabbi Simon was ordained at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City, where she received a master's degree in Jewish Education (2008) and was named a Mandel Fellow, studying visionary leadership and Jewish education. A former Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern and Director of Children's Education at Congregation Beth Simchat Torah in New York, Rabbi Simon also served as the Student Rabbi at Denison University and at Temple Beth Sholom in Ishpeming, Michigan.  Rabbi Simon is passionate about creating an inclusive Jewish community and working for social justice.

Sara Lahyani
Office Manager

Sara is responsible for keeping the day-to-day operations running smoothly.  She enjoys talking to congregants and community members, assisting with life cycle events, and working with volunteers. She is usually the first person to answer the telephone.


 

 


Wendy Goldberg
Music Director

With an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and a master's in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary, Wendy sees her role as being a shlichat tzibor, (messenger of the community), guiding us in prayer. Wendy has led services at many synagogues, and is the founding director of Shir Harmony, a Jewish Women's a capella group.

Jackie Fitzcollins
Rabbis Assistant

Jackie is vital to assisting the rabbis, scheduling appointments, and keeping track of all rabbinical and pastoral activities.

 

 

Rabbi Stacy Offner
Founding Rabbi Emerita
 
Rabbi Offner became the Shir Tikvah Founding Rabbi Emerita in July 2008 after 20 years of visionary and loving leadership. Rabbi Offner graduated magna cum laude in 1977 from Kenyon College in Ohio. She received her master's degree in Hebrew literature and her Rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College, in New York. She came to the Twin Cities in 1984, the first woman Rabbi in the state of Minnesota. Shir Tikvah treasures our relationship with Rabbi Offner and continues to be inspired by her wisdom, vision, and courage.
