Chavurot: Creating Community

A Chavurah is a small group of families, couples, or individuals who share common interests and the desire to meet together on a regular basis.

Chavurah groups help to create a personal sense of Jewish belonging and community within the larger congregation. Your chavurah will decide the group's focus, which may include a variety of different activities such as celebrating holidays together, Torah study, theater outings, and, of course, meals. Chavurot (plural of chavurah) usually meet monthly in the homes of members.

If you would like to participate in a chavurah at Shir Tikvah, please fill out the Chavurot Form or contact the office. You may be placed with an existing chavurah depending on your interests, or when enough new requests are gathered, a new group will be formed.
